Hello! My name is Shannon Tidwell and I am the designer behind Cookies In Color.

I began this crazy cookie adventure in 2014. My sister in law had started decorating cookies and I was always asking her to make them for my kids. So I asked her to give me a cookie lesson. That one lesson turned into an obsession. I began making cookies for my kids’ special occasions which quickly grew into Cookies In Color. Cookies have been a blessing in that I can work as much or as little as I want. With three very active kids the flexibility is a must. People often ask me if I’m going to open a bakery….and my answer is always No! Then I’d have to actually GO to work!

To tell you the truth, I do not consider myself a baker. I have a cookie and icing recipe that tastes great and I don’t deviate. The creative decorating is my specialty. I love creating a set of cookies that perfectly coordinates with my customers’ events. I don’t create the same set twice, always tweaking and improving my process.

Before I started decorating cookies I worked in the Scrapbooking Industry designing, teaching, and marketing scrapbooking products & pages for over 10 years. Scrapbooking helped me develop my eye for color and design. I do miss it, but cookie decorating fulfills my creative outlet for now!
